Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam has released the official notification of Polytechnic Admission 2025. Intending and eligible candidates may apply online here for admission into Diploma Courses in the following State Government Polytechnics of Assam for the session 2025–2026.
No. of seats in State Government Polytechnics are 4425 seats for 22 Nos. of different Diploma programmes. (As per 2024 DTE official notification)

As s per the official notification, there will be no Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) from the session 2024-25 onwards. Admission into the various polytechnic courses under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, will be based on the marks obtained in the HSLC Exam with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Eligibility Criteria of Polytechnic Admission Test
Resident-ship: Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent resident of Assam. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the time of Counseling. He/she may be allowed to take provisional admission on production of PRC Application Receipt and submission of undertaking regarding submission of final PRC within 60 days. If the candidate fails to submit the PRC within stipulated time, his/her seat will be cancelled.
Educational Qualification: Candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination in a single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Candidates also must have passed individually in both Theory and Practical examinations in Mathematics and Science.
The required minimum average percentage in Mathematics and Science is as mentioned below.

The category-wise maximum age limit as on 31st December 2025 is as given below.

Application Fee for Polytechnic Admission
Application Fee: The application fee of Assam Polytechnic Admission is Rs 300/- plus bank charges as applicable.
Payment Mode:
Online: Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking .
Offline: Through Cash Deposit form from State Bank Collect in final step of Online Application.
