Eligibility Criteria


Applicants must satisfy one of the following:

  • Master’s degree: A 1-year/2-semester master’s after a 4-year bachelor’s OR a 2-year master’s after a 3-year bachelor’s (or equivalent) with at least 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade). A 5% relaxation applies to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/EWS/PWD categories.
  • Candidates with an M.Phil. degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) are eligible. The same 5% relaxation applies for reserved categories.
  • Applicants completing a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s directly should have at least 75% aggregate (relaxation for reserved categories as applicable).

Admission Process & Selection


  1. UGC-NET qualified candidates (JRF/Assistant Professor/PhD): Apply online. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and research-proposal presentation. Selection is based on interview performance.
  2. Non-NET candidates: If vacancies remain, an entrance examination will be conducted. The exam comprises two parts (details to be notified). Qualified candidates will be called for viva-voce/interview for final selection.

a. 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable. Three (core elective) subject marks may be taken for calculating the percentage of marks excluding the marks in English. Also, it has to be ensured the candidate has pass marks in English.

b. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the schools recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

c. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.

d. Registered ANM with pass marks.

Physical Fitness: Students must be medically fit.

 
Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.

PRC: Permanent Resident Certificate is mandatory for admission in the Govt. Institutes of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Paramedical  Admission


Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.

Residentship: Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam and must furnish a Certificate to this effect for admission into Govt. Institutes. The provision of Permanent Resident Certificate shall not be applicable to the Sons/Daughters of the employees of the Govt. of Assam.

Age Limit: Candidate must be minimum of 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.

Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification for selection of the candidates is H.S.S.L.C (Science) (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum of 45% marks in case of General Candidates and 40% for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P) and ST(H) candidates without grace marks.
