Types of Scholarships Available
1. Pre-Matric ST Scholarship
For ST students studying in Class 9 and 10 in government-recognized schools.
2. Post-Matric ST Scholarship
For ST students pursuing studies from Class 11 up to postgraduate level, including vocational and technical courses.
Eligibility Criteria
Common Criteria
- Must belong to Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Assam.
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Studying in a recognized institution.
- Annual parental income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
- Should not be availing any other centrally/state-funded scholarship.
Additional for Pre-Matric
- Applicable for Class 9 and 10 students.
- Must have passed previous exams successfully.
Additional for Post-Matric
- Applicable for Class 11 to Postgraduate students.
- Should be pursuing regular courses from recognized institutions.
Scholarship Benefits
Pre-Matric ST Scholarship
- Hostellers: ₹525/month for 10 months + ₹1,000 annual books & ad-hoc grant
- Day Scholars: ₹225/month for 10 months + ₹750 annual books & ad-hoc grant
Post-Matric ST Scholarship
- Maintenance Allowance: ₹230 to ₹1,200 per month (based on course)
- Reimbursement of tuition and other compulsory fees
- Study tour and thesis/typing charges for PG/research students
