Gauhati High Court has released the Admit Card for the Written Examination for recruitment of 367 Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA) posts in the district courts of Assam. Candidates who applied online can now download their admit card from the official website.
The written examination will be conducted in OMR-based mode. Carrying the admit card to the examination centre is mandatory.

Selection Process of Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment 2026
The selection process consists of three stages conducted district-wise.
Stage I – Written Examination
- Type: OMR Based Objective Test
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Total Marks: 120 Marks
- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer
Subject-wise Marks Distribution
- General English – 50 Marks
- General Knowledge (including Computer Knowledge) – 30 Marks
- General Aptitude – 20 Marks
- Assamese Language – 20 Marks (Qualifying Only)
Note: Assamese language section is qualifying in nature. Candidates must score at least 8 marks (40%). Marks obtained in this section will not be included in the merit list.
Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 for the Computer Skill Test.
Stage II – Computer Skill Test (35 Marks)
Typing Test – 20 Marks
Typing speed and accuracy will be tested using typing application software. Evaluation will be based on correct words per minute (WPM).
Computer Proficiency Test – 15 Marks
Assessment of proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:3 for Viva-Voce.
Stage III – Viva-Voce (15 Marks)
The Viva-Voce will carry 15 marks. Final selection will be made district-wise based on total performance.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared out of 150 marks:
- Written Test – 100 Marks (excluding Assamese)
- Computer Skill Test – 35 Marks
- Viva-Voce – 15 Marks
📌 Important: Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card to the exam centre and strictly follow all instructions mentioned on it.
