SSC CHSL Exam – FAQs
1. What is the eligibility for SSC CHSL?
Candidates must have passed 12th standard from a recognized board. For DEO‑C&AG posts, 12th with science & mathematics is required.
2. What is the age limit?
Applicants must be 18–27 years old. Age relaxations as per government norms: OBC by 3 years, SC/ST by 5 years, etc.
3. What is the selection process?
SSC CHSL consists of three tiers:
- Tier-I: Computer-based exam (200 marks, 100 MCQs)
- Tier-II: Descriptive paper (pen-and-paper)
- Tier-III: Skill test (DEO) or typing test (LDC/PA/SA)
4. Tell me the Tier-I exam pattern?
It includes 100 questions (25 each) in English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness, totaling 200 marks in 60 minutes (80 minutes for scribe candidates). Negative marking: 0.5 per wrong answer.
5. What about Tier-II and Tier-III?
Tier-II is a 100‑mark descriptive test for essay, letter, or application. Tier-III is qualifying in nature––skill test for DEO or typing test for LDC/PA/SA, with required minimum speeds.
