Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for CTET 2026 are prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Candidates can check details on ncte.gov.in.
For Classes I–V (Primary Stage)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed.
- OR Senior Secondary with 45% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE 2002 norms).
- OR Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 4-year B.El.Ed.
- OR Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed.
- Note: Candidates with B.Ed must complete a 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education after appointment.
For Classes VI–VIII (Elementary Stage)
- Graduation and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year D.El.Ed.
- OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed.
- OR Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed / B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed.
- OR Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
