GATE 2026: Online Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility & Syllabus



Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati has released the official notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. This year GATE will be conducted for 30 subjects (papers) and the exams will be held on 07th, 08th, 14th & 15th February 2026. The test will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.


GATE is a national level examination conducted jointly by IISc Bangalore and the IITs under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. Qualifying in GATE is essential for admission to Master’s and Doctoral programs and also for recruitment in leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as IOCL, BHEL, NTPC, ONGC, GAIL, PGCIL, HAL, etc. Moreover, several Central Government posts also accept GATE score as eligibility criteria.

The State Level Eligibility Test Commission, Assam (North East Region) has released the official notification for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2025. This state-level examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as Assistant Professors in colleges and universities within the jurisdiction of the member states of the SLET Commission. The exam is similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit to appear in the SET examination.


Educational Qualification


  • Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from a UGC-recognized university/institution for General/Unreserved/General-EWS categories.
  • SC/ST/PWD/OBC-NCL candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates awaiting final year results or whose qualifying examinations are delayed may also apply.

Eligibility Criteria of NCET Exam


Age Limit: For appearing in the NCET 2025, there is no age limit for the candidates. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Government College to which they are desirous of taking admission.

Educational Qualification: The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2025 irrespective of their age can appear in the NCET 2025 examination.
