Vacancy Details
A total of 20 Grade-IV vacancies have been announced. The category-wise distribution is as follows:
- Open Category: 10 posts
- OBC/MOBC: 5 posts
- Tea Tribe & Adivasi: 1 post
- SC: 2 posts
- ST (P): 1 post
- ST (H): 1 post
Out of these, reservations are also provided for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen categories.
Salary (Pay Scale)
Candidates selected for Grade-IV posts will receive the following pay scale as per Assam State Government rules:
- Pay Scale: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 per month
- Grade Pay: ₹3,900
- Pay Band: PB-1 + other admissible allowances
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality & Domicile
The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. A valid PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) issued in Assam or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate is mandatory.
2. Educational Qualification
- Minimum: Class VIII passed
- Maximum: HSSLC (Class 12) passed
Important: Candidates possessing higher qualifications than Class 12 will not be eligible to apply.
3. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
Relaxation in upper age limit:
- SC/ST: 5 years (up to 45 years)
- OBC/MOBC/Tea Tribe & Adivasi: 3 years (up to 43 years)
- PwBD: 10 years
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in two phases:
Phase I: Screening Test (OMR-based MCQ)
- Arithmetic – 20 marks
- General Knowledge (Assam specific) – 20 marks
- Reasoning – 20 marks
- Social Science – 20 marks
- Science – 10 marks
- Elementary English – 10 marks
Total Marks: 100 | Duration: 2 hours
Phase II: Interview
Candidates shortlisted in the written test will be called for an interview in a 1:5 ratio category-wise.
Application Fee
No application fee is required; however, a processing fee of ₹47.20 will be charged by CSC-SPV under the Digital India initiative.
