Eligibility Criteria of India Post Recruitment


Educational Qualification: The candidate should have passed Secondary School Examination of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS.


Local Language Proficiency: The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard.


Knowledge of Cycling: Knowledge of Cycling is a pre requisite condition for all GDS posts. In case of a candidate having knowledge of riding a scooter or motor cycle, that may be considered as knowledge of cycling also.


Age Limit:


  •  Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  •  Maximum Age Limit: 40 years


Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.


  •  SC/ST: 5 years
  •  OBC: 3 years
  •  PWD: 10 years
  •  PWD-OBC: 13 years
  •  PWD-SC/ST: 15 years

Selection Process of India Post GDS Recruitment


(i) The applicants will be shortlisted for engagement on the basis of a system generated merit list.

(ii) The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained/ conversion of Grades/Points to marks (as explained in sub paras - iii to xiii below) in Secondary School Examination of 10th standard of recognised Boards aggregated to percentage
to the accuracy of 4 decimals. 

(iii) For applicants where Secondary School Examination of 10th standard mark sheet contains the “marks” as mentioned in each subject or “marks” and “Grade/Points” both, their “marks’ will be worked out by taking into account the 'marks obtained'. In case any applicant applies with grades/points instead of marks, his/her application will be liable for cancellation. However, if for any particular subject (s) only grades are mentioned in the mark sheet then for that subject (s) grades can be mentioned and the same need not to be converted to the marks by the candidates.
