The Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Project Scientist and Project Scientist-IT positions on a contractual basis. The appointment will be initially for 11 months and may be extended if the project continues. Interested candidates are invited to appear for the Walk-in-Interview scheduled on 20th September 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for ASSAC Recruitment 2025
Educational Qualification
- Project Scientist (Agriculture & Fisheries): 1st Class Master’s Degree in Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics/Agricultural Science/Geography (RS & GIS)/Zoology (Fish Biology/Fisheries).
- Project Scientist (IT): M.Tech/M.E./MCA/M.Sc. in RS & GIS/Computer Science/IT or B.Tech/BE in CSE/IT/Geoinformatics with relevant experience.
- Project Scientist (Agro-forestry): Master’s in Forestry/Botany (Taxonomy/Ecology) with PG training in RS & GIS or M.Tech in Geoinformatics/RS & GIS with forestry background.
- Project Scientist (Border Monitoring & LULC): M.Sc./M.Tech in Geoinformatics/RS & GIS/Spatial Science OR B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engg. with RS & GIS OR M.Sc. in Geography/Earth Science with RS & GIS.
Desirable Skills
- Hands-on experience with Remote Sensing & GIS software (ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, QGIS, ArcGIS, SNAP).
- Experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE) for satellite data processing.
- Programming knowledge in Python/JavaScript for geospatial scripting.
- Experience in Web GIS Applications, Mobile App/Portal Development, AI/ML/DL-based geospatial analysis.
Selection Process
Selection will be made through a Walk-in-Interview. Candidates must bring filled application form, self-attested copies of certificates, and original documents for verification.
