Applications are invited by Assam State Biodiversity Board for Recruitment of 33 posts of BMC District Co-ordinators (subject to availability of funds) for a duration of 3 (three) months under the 11th batch of Biodiversity Research Associate Programme (BRAP).
Post Name: BMC District Co-ordinator
No of posts: 33 (One for each district)
Age limit: Maximum 30 years
Remuneration: Rs. 15,000/- per month + travel allowance to a maximum Of Rs. 5000/- per month.
Educational Qualification: Post-graduates in the Life Sciences (preferably post-graduates in Botany and Zoology) having fair knowledge of identification of local plants and animals, their scientific name, common uses, etc.
The candidates must have the ability to interact with the communities and take records in the local language.
Good computer skill (Word/Excel) is essential.
Nature of work:
- Co-ordination of the Biodiversity Management Committees (BMC) in their respective Districts constituted at Zilla Parishad, Anchalik Panchayats, Gaon Panchayats, and Municipal Board.
- Assist the BMCs in matters related to the preparation of PBR and implementation of the Biological Diversity Act-2002.
- Organize workshops for sensitization and capacity building of the members of the BMCs about their roles and responsibilities.
- Approach the BMCs and organize the meeting for presentation and adoption of their draft PBR.
- Assist the BMCs in drawing their Action Plans.
