Assam VFA Training Course Admission 2025 – Apply Online for 200 Seats



The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Assam has released the official notification for admission into the one-year VFA Training Course for the session 2025–26. Online applications are invited from eligible and permanent residents of Assam for 200 seats.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Relaxation:

    • OBC/MOBC – 3 years
    • SC/ST(P)/ST(H) – 5 years


Application Fee

  • There is NO application fee for any category of candidates.

Selection Process

  1. Scrutiny of Applications

  2. Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) – 100 Marks

    • HSSLC (Bio): 40% weightage

    • HSLC: 20% weightage

    • PAT (Viva): 40% weightage

  3. Questions will be from:

    • Biology, Physics, Chemistry

    • General Awareness (State & National)

Final Merit List will be prepared category-wise based on total marks.

Other Important Notes

  • PRC is mandatory before PAT

  • No TA/DA will be provided

  • Final merit list to be published on the official site

  • Candidates must produce all original documents at PAT

Assam VFA Admission 2025 – FAQs

1. What is the Assam VFA Training Course?
It's a one-year Veterinary Field Assistant training program by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Assam—designed to equip youth with field-level veterinary skills. 
2. Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam, aged 18–30 years as of 01 Jan 2025 (with 3-year relaxation for OBC/MOBC and 5-year for SC/ST), and must have passed HSSLC (Science) with Biology. 
3. How many seats are available?
There are 200 seats in total: 102 General, 73 OBC/MOBC, 10 EWS, 5 SC, 10 ST(P), and 0 ST(H). 
4. What’s the application fee?
There is **no application fee** for any category — it’s completely free. 
5. How do I apply?
Visit ahvfa.assam.gov.in, register online between 14 June and 13 July 2025, fill in details, upload required documents (HSLC/HSSLC certificate, PRC, photo, signature, caste/EWS if applicable), submit, and keep printout.
6. What documents are required?
Upload scanned copies of:
  • HSLC Certificate/Admit Card (age proof)
  • HSSLC (Science & Biology) Marksheets
  • Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)
  • Recent passport photo & signature
  • Caste/EWS certificate if applicable
  • DDO certificate if employed under Grade‑IV

7. What is the selection process?
Selection is based on:
  • 40% weightage to HSSLC (Science with Biology)
  • 20% to HSLC marks
  • 40% from Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) – oral test on Biology, Chemistry, Physics & General Awareness

8. When will PAT be conducted?
PAT dates will be announced later on the official portal. Applicants must bring original documents; no TA/DA will be provided.
9. Is there any stipend during training?
No stipend is provided during the training period. 
10. Where will training take place?
Training is held at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H., Ghungoor, Silchar, along with its extended campuses.
