Educational Qualification
- Science Subjects: Candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and English with the required aggregate marks OR a three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant stream OR a two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics.
- Other Than Science Subjects: Candidates should have passed 10+2 in any stream with the required marks OR a two-year Vocational Course from a recognized board.
Physical Eligibility
- Candidates should meet the prescribed height, chest and medical standards.
- Vision should be as per Indian Air Force medical standards.
- LASIK or PRK surgery is not permitted.
- Weight should be proportionate to height and age.
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of three stages.
Phase-I: Online Examination

Marking Scheme:
- +1 mark for every correct answer.
- No marks deducted for unanswered questions.
- 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Marks are normalized before preparing the merit list.
Phase-II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- 1.6 km Run:
- Male: Within 7 minutes
- Female: Within 8 minutes

Phase-III: Medical Examination
Candidates qualifying Phase-II will undergo a detailed medical examination conducted by the Indian Air Force Medical Team. Medical tests include blood test, urine test, chest X-ray, ECG and other examinations as per IAF standards. Candidates declared medically unfit may apply for an Appeal Medical Board within the prescribed period after paying the required fee.
