Eligibility Criteria for IIT Guwahati Recruitment 2025
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications (depending on the department):
- Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate field
- OR Diploma in Engineering (3 years’ duration) in the appropriate field
- OR ITI with 3 years’ relevant experience
- Knowledge of computer applications is mandatory
Department-wise Requirements
- Infrastructure Planning & Management (IPM): ITI in Electrician Trade with 3 years’ experience in 33/11 KV, 11/0.433 KV substation & DG sets.
- Central Workshop:
- ITI in Carpentry with 3 years’ experience, OR
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, OR
- ITI in Turner with 3 years’ experience in CNC machine operations
- Central Instruments Facility (CIF): Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics/Chemistry) OR Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Engineering Physics, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering.
Desirable: 1 year experience in operating analytical equipment (Spectrophotometer, Mass Spectrometer, XRD, Electron Microscope, etc.)
Age Limit
- Maximum: 27 years (as on 15/09/2025)
- No upper age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati
- Age relaxation as per Govt. of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-servicemen
