Vacancy Details

The RRB JE 2025 recruitment includes the following categories:

1. Junior Engineer (JE)

2. Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)

3. Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 33 years

Age Relaxation

• OBC (NCL): 3 years

• SC/ST: 5 years

• PwBD: 10 to 15 years depending on category

• Ex-Servicemen & other categories: As per government rules

The candidate’s date of birth must fall between 02.01.1993 and 01.01.2008 (both dates inclusive) for the general category.

2. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational/technical/professional qualification from a recognized institution or university as of the last date (30.11.2025) of online application.

• Junior Engineer (JE): Diploma/Degree in Engineering relevant to the post.

• Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Material Management.

• Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry.

Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.

3. Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be:

• a citizen of India, or

• a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or

• a Tibetan refugee (before 01.01.1962), or

• a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

Medical Fitness Standards

Candidates must meet the required medical standards prescribed by Indian Railways to ensure physical fitness for the duties associated with the posts.

• A-3, B-1, and C-1 categories apply depending on the post.

• Lasik surgery candidates are not eligible for A-3 standard posts.

Only candidates found medically fit will be considered for appointment.

Selection Process

The selection process for RRB JE/DMS/CMA 2025 involves the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)

   • Objective-type questions covering technical subjects, General Awareness, and Aptitude.

   • Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for every wrong answer.

2. Document Verification (DV)

   • Candidates shortlisted based on CBT merit (1:1 ratio per RRB) will be called for verification.

3. Medical Examination

   • Final selection will depend on medical fitness as per railway standards.

4. Final Merit List

• Based on normalized marks in CBT, followed by document and medical verification.

Reservation Policy

Vertical Reservation:

• SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and EWS as per government norms.

Horizontal Reservation:

• For Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Candidates must produce valid certificates in the prescribed formats during Document Verification.
